Alison Shaw, Ph.D., CPC

 

 

Alison is Founder and Principal at FlipSide. She is passionate about generating cross-cutting, interdisciplinary knowledge for action. Combining almost two decades of sustainability expertise and professional coaching techniques, Alison focuses on bridging the boundaries between science, policy and practice. She has worked as a consultant and coach with public and private sector organizations and as a research scientist on cross-cutting climate change and sustainability projects. Her work emphasizes the design and management of sustainability learning processes that result in the co-creation of tailored knowledge and sustainability strategies. She works with clients to leverage leadership opportunities that change the way business gets done. Her strong analytical and interface management experience and professional coaching skills help guide partner-clients through the process of co-creating, mobilizing and embedding meaningful and effective sustainability innovations into the strategic and operational fabric of their organization, applying knowledge for action. 

 

Alison earned a Ph.D. in Resource Management Environmental Studies from the University of British Columbia and a diploma in Professional Coaching from Simon Fraser University. She is committed to generating innovative sustainability solutions within and across diverse organizations and networks, ranging from local to international scales.
